On our way back from Edam, we called in at Amsterdam.
This isn't really a typical canalside view in Amsterdam, but it makes a change.
That will be Yellow Bike Tours! behind the bikes is Nieuwmarkt.
In the far centre of the photo the tower is "Montelbaanstoren" (1516) built along with the Defensive Walls of Amsterdam. The little black building on the right of the photo is Café De Sluyswacht just off Jodenbreestraat.
This is the VOC-schip De Amsterdam, it's a replica of a ship that sunk on its' maiden voyage off Hastings, in 1749. It was sailing from Texel in the Netherlands to the East Indies. It was 18 days into its' voyage when it sank. I do not know the details of its' voyage, but 18 days from the Netherlands to Hastings was not good progress.
New buildings in Oosterdokskade.
An old fishing boat giving some good colour and reflections.
I think the registration number of this boat was VD77 (Volendam). Difficult to read as access is not great.
New buildings in Oosterdokskade again - plus the building looking like the prow of a ship is the Science Museum, it is a very impressive building in it's form.
