Pendragon Castle is in a very peaceful setting.

The valley in which it sits is very quiet - and well worth the visit.

The dappled light, old buildings and zigzag walls all add to the atmosphere.

Pendragon Castle is in the Eden Valley, just south of Kirkby Stephen.

That is the River Eden.

Fairly typical for the area - field buildings and walls.

A modern post box outside Pendragon Castle. These used to be cast and kept a couple of people in full time employment. Now they are made from light steel plate. I just do not think they look so good as the old style.
